Director’s Profile

Our founding Chairman and Managing Director is Akin FAPOHUNDA. He attended St Peters Primary School “A” Isona, Ilesa (1959—64), Ilesa Grammar School, Ilesa (1965—71: WAEC/HSC), University of Ibadan, Ibadan (1972—75: B.Sc.), the University of Wisconsin at Madison, USA (1978—80: M.S.) and the University of Ibadan, Ibadan (1983—86: Ph.D.). He is trained as an Agronomist, Soil Survey and Land Use Planner, as well as a Remote Sensing, Digital Image Processing and Environmental Monitoring Specialist.

He joined the Federal Public Service through the Federal Ministry of Agriculture in 1976; served as pioneer Head of Computer and Information Services at the Raw Materials Reserach and Development Council (RMRDC); became Director, Planning, Reserach and Data Bank at the then National Agricultural Land Developement Authority (NALDA) in 1992; and Voluntarily Retired in December, 2000 as the Desk Officer in the Space Science Office at the Presidency, Abuja. He owns a Basic Education School—Aflon Digital Academy, as well an NBTE and JAMB approved Monotechnic: Aflon Digital Institute at Kuje; a rural suburb of Abuja.

He is the IT Adviser to the Planning Group for the proposed Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State. In September, 2009, Dr. Fapohunda was appointed as Visiting Senior Lecturer in Multimedia Technology, Computer Graphics and Digital Image Processing at Bingham University, Karu, Abuja. Dr. Fapohunda is a technical writer and publisher of several books seeking to bring the knowledge Computer Science to the level of everyone in Nigeria.
